John Morton has been Centre Manager at the Wellgate since June 1990. He guided it through a major refurbishment in 1992/93 during which time the roof was replaced with a glass atrium to illuminate the Mall interior for the first time.

In June 1983, John became Assistant Shopping Centre Manager in the Cumbernauld Shopping Centre where he remained until June 1990. He gained his Diploma in Management Studies then moved to the Wellgate.

John is an active member of Dundee City Centre Initiative Group, Dundee City Centre Action group and Dundee Tayside Chamber of Commerce.
